Danish designer Gunni Omann was born into a furniture making legacy. The family business, Omann Jun Mobelfabrik A/S, was established in 1933 by Andreas Omann, who was either Gunni’s father or uncle, this remains unknown. Several members of the Omann family designed furniture for the company but Gunni was the most celebrated. His designs, notably his shelves, desks and cabinets, brought international fame and fortune to the firm.

Nowadays Gunni Omann’s designs from the nineteensixties are highly sought after. Made from high-quality woods like rosewood and teak, the pieces feature many hallmarks of Scandinavian modernist design: beautiful grained surfaces, tapered legs, sliding doors, and beveled edges.
